Quality Management System
A quality management system (QMS) is a system where an organization aims at reducing or eliminating nonconformities. Usually organizations start by reducing nonconformities from specifications and/or standards. When the QMS has matured into an efficient quality system it can start reducing all nonconformities according to customer standards.
The ultimate goal of implementing QMS is to increase customer satisfaction. QMS encourages organizations to analyze customer needs and define the processes needed to design a product that fulfills customer satisfaction. A well implemented QMS will provide organizations with an environment for continual improvement.
